It all starts with where you stay!
There are sooo many Disney Resort options that it can get very confusing! One thing holds true: if you don’t have a promotion deal or discount code that is saving you money a Disney Value Resort will be the cheapest option for a a family of 4-6.
So, what if you do have a discount? Then you’ll need to do a little math! (Just a little! It’ll be worth it, I promise!) Sometimes, with a good discount a moderate might come in cheaper or approximately the same price. When that happens, I book the DisneyModerate! Why? More amenities! When it doesn’t, go ahead and book the whimsical Disney Value! They’re fun and let’s face it, you’re going to spend most of your time in the parks!
Next, let’s talk tickets!
Most of the time Disney Tickets will be rack rate. Why? Because they are their tickets! If anyone says they can give you a much better rate, beware! For them to do that they would be losing money or planning to get money from you for purchasing something else or flat out scamming you!
Having said that, Disney will occasionally offer a ticket discount. Most often you can either get a room discount, a ticket discount, or a package discount. Run the math to know what’s the best discount!
There is one other way to save money, but only if you’re planning either a long trip for over a week or 2 trips within 12 months that are at least 4 days. How can you do this? Annual Passes! In addition to your tickets being essentially free after the second visit, you will also get dining and merchandise discounts at some locations!
Food! It’s what’s for dinner! And lunch…and breakfast… and snack time!
When it comes to saving money on all of the delicious food at Disney, there are a few things to think about. The first is Quick Service Dining. While it isn’t the best food they have to offer, with a little detective work on your My Disney Experience app, you can find a delightfully varied menu! This is the least expensive food they have to offer.
Next, consider snacks! I know that might sound counterintuitive, but a thoughtfully consumed snack at the right time can keep you from purchasing a whole meal.
Finally, though the Disney Dining Plan is not necessarily a budget saver, it can help you budget and pay for everything except your souvenir items before your trip! This can help give you peace of mind on your vacation, which is just as important as budget!
And finally…consider how you are getting there!
To fly or to drive? While I can’t say one way is better for everyone, doing your homework will help you make the right choice for you!
