So Many Resorts!
Walt Disney World boasts 29 resorts plus a campground that
has a wide variety of campsites plus cabins that will definitely take you from camping
to glamping! I have stayed at many of these resorts throughout my life. Each of
them were unique. Each of them offered a different feel to my vacation. Each of
them added a special touch to make the perfect vacation. So how do you pick the
perfect resort for your vacation? Look at your budget, your needs from the
hotel, and how much time you plan to spend there. Also, take into account how
many people for whom you are booking reservations. As you are planning, do not
forget about tickets and Park Reservations. Click here if you would like to learn more about the different ticket options.
The Best Value…Maybe
Disney World has five Value hotels: The All Stars- Movies,
Music, or Sports; Pop Century; and The Art of Animation. If you are looking to
stretch a tight budget these are the first resorts I would look at. Each of
these rooms has sleeping capabilities for four adults, plus offer amenities
such as a coffee pot, mini-fridge, and a hairdryer. The All Star Resorts tend to be the least
expensive, followed by Pop and then Animation. If your travelling party is four
or less, you will fit easily at any of these. All Star Music and The Art of
Animation each have some suites available that can sleep six adults, and have
the extra amenities of a second bathroom and a microwave in the room. Pop and Animation
both have access to Disney’s Skyliner that will whisk you away to Epcot and
Hollywood Studios. All resorts have complimentary bus service.
What’s the Big Deal?
Values are great if you plan to spend most of your time in a
theme park. They all have whimsical theming that is fun to see and great for
taking pictures. They all have at least one themed swimming pool. Each of them
has a counter service restaurant as well as a gift shop, arcade, and a pool
bar. What’s not to love?
Moderates: Right in the Middle!
There are four Moderate hotels on Disney World’s property.
Like the values, they each have their reasons you might want to choose them! They
also offer similar amenities: coffee pot, fridge, and bus transportation. In
addition to the themed swimming pools, counter service restaurant, gift shop
and pool bar, each Moderate also offers a Table Service restaurant that requires
reservations. Each of these hotels can accommodate at least four adults in a
room.
Port Orleans has two resorts: Riverside and The French
Quarter. They are quiet, beautiful resorts with a river that runs through the
property. Both of these resorts offer a water taxi to Disney Springs, in
addition to a bus. Riverside has Princess Rooms that are dressed up to be fit
for your princess of any age! They also have some rooms that can accommodate fiveguests, though the fifth bed is decidedly smaller. Certain evenings you can
even enjoy the piano stylings of Yee-haw Bob! The French Quarter is just as it
sounds! Quaint streets with street signs will lead you around the “city.” Each
of these resorts offer carriage rides, surrey rentals, and more!
The Caribbean Beach Resort is Pirate themed! Just like those
Princess Rooms I mentioned at Riverside, Caribbean offers some rooms that are
themed for the Pirate in your crew! Similar amenities are offered as with the
other moderates with one major exception. Caribbean does not have a water taxi,
but it does provide access to the Disney’s Skyliner that will fly you over to
Epcot or Hollywood Studios in no time!
The Coronado Springs is a little bit the same and a little bit different from the other three. It boasts a large conference center, as well as a newly added tower that provides even more accommodations for guests. Some of the rooms are in keeping with what you would expect at a moderate and accommodate four. There are also some suites available. The pricing for the suites is more what you would expect for a deluxe or DVC, Disney Vacation Club resort. One of the best amenities at Coronado are the restaurant possibilities! So. Many. Choices!
Deluxe is well…Deluxe!
All of the other resorts are part of either the Deluxe orthe DVC resorts. Accommodations include anything from a studio to Villas and
Bungalows that can accommodate up to twelve guests depending on which option
you choose! There are even Treehouse Villas available over at Saratoga Springs.
These are true vacation rentals. If you were of the mind to, you could stay at
these resorts and never go into the parks and have a wonderful vacation. The
studios are equipped with amenities similar to the moderates. The Villas and
Bungalows have extra amenities, such as full kitchens, in room laundry
facilities, and more! Planning a family reunion? These might be the perfect
option! Beautiful landscapes, themed pools, restaurants, and recreation are all
available at these locations! Each of them are unique and offer something you
will not have access to at another resort. If Deluxe is in your future, I
recommend going to disneyworld.disney.go.com and
reading about all of the wonderful things that they offer.
Last, but not Least, The Fort Wilderness Campground
Fort Wilderness has sites to accommodate
tents all the way up to RVs. They offer
grills on site, clean bathhouses, and large, clean laundry facilities. In
addition, they have similar amenities to the Value Resorts plus additional
recreation options, such as horseback riding and a petting zoo. More of a
Glamper than a Camper? No problem! The Cabins at Fort Wilderness sleep six,
provide a full indoor kitchen, and still afford all of the other opportunities
of the campground!
