Disney Dining Review: Sci-Fi Dine In

Once upon a time there were Drive-In Movie Theaters across the US. Folks would gather in their family sedan or station wagon on the weekends and enjoy the latest flick! I’m sure there are probably a few Drive-Ins left in some specific locations, but today people gather in their family room, pop up some popcorn and stream a show! Most people under 40 have never been to a Drive-In! That is, until Sci-Fi at Hollywood Studios! Here you will be transported back to the heyday of Drive-Ins and seated in an old car from the 50s, converted to your booth! What’s the show? Retro clips and trailers of the popular Sci-Fi content of the 50s! Worried your littles will be scared? No worries! Most kids are glued to the show and I’ve never personally witnessed a problem! Fun for the whole family!

Food

If you’re looking for fine dining, keep looking! That’s not what this is designed to be! This is gourmet burgers, the best fries on Disney property(steak-cut), onion rings, and milkshakes! They do have some other alternatives for people who don’t want a burger, but the burgers are fantastic! Got a gluten allergy? They have a hamburger bun for you!

Overall Experience and Impressions

My family really enjoys the overall experience of Sci-Fi! To us, it is a staple of Hollywood Studios! You will definitely want to make a reservation because I is very popular! Also, note that their is some alternative seating that includes several varieties of tables instead of booths.

While it is true that I love all things Disney , the attractions, the parades, the fireworks, the characters, the thing I love most at Disney is the dining! Disney Value Resorts: Which one is Best?

Why are they called Value Resorts? Pop Century The Disney Value Resorts are called that because they are the least expensive resorts that Disney has to offer. In other words, staying at one of these will stretch that Disney Budget farther. Currently, there are 5 Values: Pop Century , The Art of Animation , All Star Music , All Star Movie s, and All Star Sports . What amenities and entertainment can I expect at a Value Resort? All of these resorts will have a counter service restaurant, a pool bar, a gift shop, a themed pool near the main building, guest laundry, Movies Under the Stars, and special resort activities at the main pool. Hollywood Studios: What can I expect? Hollywood Studios, like Epcot , is not like the MagicKingdom . It is not like Epcot either. So what is it? Originally, Hollywood Studios was a small theme park named MGM Studios. The theming of the park was a day on a Backlot in Hollywood. Everything that was originally there had to do with the making of movies. Though it was my favorite park, it had a problem. It earned the reputation of a half-day park. Through the years, it has changed significantly. Today’s version of Hollywood Studios is definitely a full day park.
